Hi folks, I had a chance to take a few pics of the original Colt factory recently. Thought some of you might find it interesting.
    Best,

Thanks for posting the pics. Are they still redeveloping the area? I think it was going to be a shopping area or maybe apartments.

Next time you are in the area, drive north for 30 minutes and go to the Springfield Armory Museum in Springfield, Ma. The wrought iron fence surrounding the museum, and the community college on the same campus, was made from melted down Revolutionary War cannons.

There is much Garand goodness betwixt those walls.

grew up in the area. loved that factory and the stadium provided many great memories with concerts and such...ah the good old days..when we lived like free men-- we were a blue state and had a budget in the black...now red state and always millions in debt and our rights are being assaulted daily

We've come a long way, haven't we boatdoc? Samuel Colt and his company pioneered many revolutionary manufacturing processes and helped drive the spirit of invention and entrepreneurship. The American spirit now leans more toward gibsmedat.

That ct and western mass corridor used to be a hotbed of firearms. Colt, S&W, Dan Wesson, Mossberg, Savage, Stag and I know I am missing a fair amount.

Really, I think the only thing left is S&W. I heard Savage was closing as well.

Marlin, Ruger , Winchester, Charter Arms, High Standard, Standard Manufacturing, LW Seecamp, Remington (ammo), Christian Sharps ( Sharps Rifles), Richard Gatlin (Gatlin Gun), Connecticut Shotgun.
Now we have the dirtbag brothers Democrats Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal. I gotta get outta here.

Thanks for sharing pictures of the Mothership! I’ve only seen it from the freeway, while on business in the area. Very nice to see some close ups!
