Colt 1991 Compact on the way to Alchemy Custom Weaponry
    Tired of having safe queens.
So the 1993 Colt with less then 100 rounds ever shot and never carried is to be turned into primary carry gun for my motorcycle trips.

    Short list of changes.
    Magwell bevel
checker and high cut front strap 30lpi
    Complete Dehorn
    Extended Mag release
    Lower and flaired ejection port
    N.M. trigger Short
    Flat MSH 30 lpi
    Hard Chrome
    New springs
    Other internal items as needed.

have plans this year to change over another 12 to 14 guns in the safe so I will have nothing just sitting

Sounds great everything but the hard chrome. Your going to be on a motorcycle and be in all kinds of weather. Chrome is great for wear but if it gets wet it will rust. Just something to think about.

    What is more important?
The chrome on the Harley or the 1911

Any how always wear a rain suit and the pistol will be under it.

Sounds like it'll be a good one, Alan! On the magazine catch, are you going with a true extended one, or one of those halfway-between-normal-and-extended catches?

    Hi Andy

My thought is a half way one

I am unable to push the release while holding the grip.

My hand is normal size but the colt compact seems to not allow the same reach as on a full size frame.

After Rob takes a look at the pistol we will talk about these things and I will listen to the experts.

    Take Care

Gotcha. For what it's worth, I have that medium-length (sometimes called "tactical extended" or some such) magazine catch on mine and I really like it.
