Picked this up locally today for a decent price. It was stated to me that it is unfired. 2016 vintage with the new Colt front strap checkering. I saw a dark pic at first and thought this was the Pete Single version but unfortunately it isn’t. However, this is my first time feeling the Colt checkering and it is decent.

I have stated on here numerous times that I am not a fan of Colt production guns due to the slop and rattle. This is hands down the best unmodified Colt I have ever held. Fit and finish are great. Still a little loose but not bad. The bluing is a very deep color. Trigger feels great, haven’t measured it yet. I am impressed.

Will be putting these stags on and taking it to the range tomorrow to try out this one and my new Clapp Hawk! Looking forward to shooting them both and will provide an update and more pictures here later on.

thank you! Feels pretty good in the hand, I am pleased with it but the Wiley Clapp I have with the Pete Single is probably my favorite checkering

thank you friend! I am on kid duty or else they would already be on it...

Based on our conversations I know we share similar sentiments here. While it is still a little loose, I am very happy with it. Well see how she does on the range.

apparently there used to be a 38S version of these, hmmm...

I had one and sold it. Regret it very much. Mine was very accurate. Loose slide and all. I think you will be very pleased.

I have no idea what you paid, but odds are you did very well. These are really difficult to find. Range report will be highly anticipated!

I have one of these and have had multiple Clapp government guns. This is by far the best gun they have ever put out. I wish it was 70 series but it's a non issue.

didn’t get a crazy deal on it but paid less than listed. I don’t know if these are considered rare but I know they’re hard to find, at least I. My experience. The story I was told, and documentation supports, is that this was part of a special order directly from Colt for a LEO in a nearby City

agreed! I’m not huge into Colts but have had or shot my fair share of good ones and this is by far the best I have handled.

image.jpeg I have two upper end DW and a Nighthawk but mine is still my favorite. I haven't shot the NH a lot yet so maybe it will change. I read a post where another member said the carry model was discontinued. A shame, but we have ours already:)

Colt CS told me late last year all SCGs were being discontinued.

I’d like to think there is a suitable replacement in the works, but have not yet seen it.

The Custom Competition was the presumed replacement and there are a few in the wild but it doesn't seem like many got made before everything got disrupted, and who ever knows with Colt, anyway... ;)
