Went to my local gun store yesterday and a 5" Clapp jumped out at me.. Few things I didn't care for so decided to go home and do a little work. I limited myself to parts I already had sitting around.

So fit an Ed Brown thumb safety, Nighthawk trigger, Challis grip bushings, new grips, did a little trigger work to get it to a nice clean 3.5#, Flush cut and reverse 45 degree the factory barrel then shot the frame and all small parts with a matte graphite black Cerakote.

Didn't touch the slide, I liked the blued finish so made myself not touch it ;)

Finished up this morn and thought I'd post a couple of pics.

That looks very nice. The way you worded all of that it makes it seem like it came together rather quickly for you. It certainly looks nice. I did roughly the same with my own, less the cerakote receiver and barrel muzzle treatment. Very nicely done to an already fine 1911.

Thanks guys! yeh William it came together very quickly.. was a nice cold rainy day in Houston yesterday.. gave me a great project. That said my wife says I'm no longer allowed to "just go look" at gun stores on rainy days!

Nice! The only thing I don't like about the slide would be the "stamped" look of the rollmark. Maybe a project for another cold rainy day :)

Nice, I also saw one at one of my LGS's yesterday. Thought the price was high so it didn't follow me home, but it sure tempted me.

Very nice! I love my WC Government but hate the safety. I may have to get this sent off and fixed now that I see yours.
