After putting a few hundred rounds through my new to me/old Colt, I think I’m ready to have a kind of “sleeper” 1911 created, but I still haven’t decided exactly what to do and would appreciate imput. This old Colt is pretty nice for its age (appears to be original finish), so I don’t really want to alter the outward appearance but would like to “slick up” the internals and lighten the trigger a bit. The gun functions perfect, but I still changed out all the springs and mainspring housing from arched to flat. The sight had already been changed at some point. What do the experts say about this idea?
