For a custom build, would you choose Caspian or Remsport?

I tried to get a frame and slide from Caspian but lost patience with them. Original quote over the phone was 4-6 weeks, then it was 8 weeks, then they got spotty with answering emails, on the phone was "well the custom serial number..." yadayada, blah blah blah. I'm a patient man, but @ 11 weeks I refused to give them $800+ and cancelled the order.

Just sayin'....maybe others have patient for that sort of thing and I'd hope you have a better experience with them if you go with that company.

I recently studied several different manufacturers for a frame/slide build. After reviewing the options I decided on Wilson Combat Carbon Steel frame/slide set for $427 dollars. Wilson is well known for their quality and service. I order on line on a Tuesday and had the set the following Friday providing for a 10 turn around from order to pickup. Here is a link if you're interested:

Have built a Remsport, so that's my only experience, and because they had the frame I wanted. I haven't built a Caspian yet, and didn't choose them was due to their selection of what I wanted. I'm sure a really good smith can find faults in both cases.

And it's not like the frame and slide comes from over seas. Only the forgings are from off shore, so all machining are done in the State.

Wilson does have a good deal going on at the moment, but they don't have the combination I'm looking for.. Looks like it'll be Caspian, but things can change.. Ron

Caspian has been very good to me. I will continue to support their business by buying their frames and slides for my custom builds.

Built both. Remsport went together easier.

Personally I prefer Taurus slides and frames. I am also a fan of Kimber's MIM barrels.

Yep Lol. That is why I have spent all this money on those out-of-data, heavy, unreliabale, grandpa guns.

Having read several discouraging reports on Rem Sport, from sources I trust, I voted Caspian.
