Ya those second ones are awesome. I'm attempting my first bushing/grip swap next week so I'm not help. But ya those grips all look great on that super clean 1911.

Get us photos of the gap between the grips and the frame. There should be a stepped recess in the back of the grips to clear the bushing. The bottom set looks like there might also be a hole misalignment.

I don't remember the dimensions off hand, but I have the correct step bit to recess the back of the grips. On the pair that looks like the holes are off dimension, I'm afraid there's not much you can do about that other than swapping them out with a new pair with their maker.

I would be happy to recess the on dimension pair for you if you like.

Close up photos of the holes on the back side would help as well.

I’ll find a machinist and have it done. I like the way the U.S.A. flag grips look in it.

Kind of hard to tell from that first photo. A bit blurry. If the holes need enlarging, I would be happy to do that for you.

It would only take about 30 seconds to do it. If the holes are off center, I would refer you back to whomever made them.

The first two sets of grips that are pictured are thin grips. You need to replace the bushings and screws. You can’t get thin grips to sit flush using standard bushings and screws. You must use the appropriate hardware

That seems to be it. Except I do have a pair of VZ thin grips that fit. I guess VZ makes the whole bigger to fit on both. When I tried the VZ they fit flush.

These titanium grips you have were made by a member who is a machinist. I have set and ran into the same thing. I do not have an answer for you as to why the VZ grips do fit.

I think cause VZ machines them for both. It wasn't a one sized fits all hole either.

    Thin grips or not, I'm still seeing hole misalignments on the flag set . . . . . . . .

@ZoidMeister I'll have to try them again. Might just be in the photos.
