Does anyone know a DW 1911 that will work for CCP? I know the ECO will. Looks like the ECP is a hair too tall but maybe it's rounded up at 5.4 inches? Also I thought barrel length for CCP was 4.1 inches but now I see 4 3/8? Thanks in advance.

Look also at the PM-C. Steel frame for better recoil control but will be close on weight. Aluminum magwell/mainspring housing and lightweight grips and I think it would be cats ass for CCP.

Like the PM-C, but length is listed as 8 inches vs. 7.75 max required.

you have to sometimes not put too much confidence in mfg. website info. They'll all tell you the .45 model of blah blah weighs the same as the 9mm when the 9 is always heavier due to less air in the barrel! I know my SA 4" fits with room to spare and tomorrow I can do some comparison between a PM frame/beavertail and the SA. My bet is that it's not 8" but I've been wrong before my Wife tells me.

Agreed I'm pretty sure those are off, just not sure how far!

OK. Here's a few pics comparing my Wife's PM-9 9mm to my SA Compact 9mm in an "official" IDPA test box.
what you need to note is the length from the end of the beavertails to the breech face is the same on both. I'm sure there could be some beavertail variance between individual guns, but on these two examples, from different mfgs. the distance is the same. incidentally, the SA is a Caspian steel frame.
Another picture shows 1/4" length left from the end of the SA 4" barrel to the CCP spacer in the box. I believe this would accommodate a 4 1/4" barrel although it will be snug.

There are Officer grip, Commander slide pistols being used in IDPA CCP. I see no reason why a PM-C would not be legal but you may need to do some weight reduction work around the 38oz. max weight due to the steel frame.
My SA is currently 1.5oz over since fitting the Caspian frame. There is a lot of extra frame materiel in the grip windows so I don't expect too much difficulty removing that 1.5oz. Just haven't done it because my focus has shifted to CO.

You'll never know for absolute sure until you test fit the exact pistol in an official box. My SA Compact needed to have the added rubber mag bumpers shaved to be sure to fit although when I first tested it before shaving them in an official box at the 2017 indoor nationals, it fit "that" box. The aftermarket adjustable rear sight is partially responsible for the height challenges.

Hope this helps with your decision. I wish I had gone with a DW instead of the SA. Would have been a LOT less work! 20181208_115743.jpg 20181208_115816.jpg 20181208_120052.jpg 20181208_120115.jpg 20181208_115743.jpg 20181208_115816.jpg 20181208_120052.jpg 20181208_120115.jpg
