Have my eye on one BAD! Don't need it, probably won't shoot it, my justification is I don't have a woods gun..... I spend about ZERO days a year in the woods.... BUT I DON'T HAVE a WOODS gun, of course, I don't go....

BTW: If anyone here has one they might want to part with, I could probably be pushed over the edge fairly quickly. Found one on GB, for a pretty good price I think and man is it killing me.

    Yep, my addiction is flaring...

Hell fire buy it. Lol I never need any help to say buy or don’t buy. If I have the funds and I want it that usually means it’s a done deal. I love the DW guns myself.

Can't talk you out of that. I have 12 acres of woods I don't go in and I still need a woods gun! ;) You must shoot it though!

Hey everyone brand new here but have been reading everything i possibly can about dan wesson 1911's and 10mm for the past two weeks. maybe yall can help.
Purchased stainless 10mm Dan Wesson specialist 2 weeks ago. First range trip, 150 rds fired, 17 malfunctions. all failure to feed and a few times the slide release activated (makes no sense, i'm left handed) Been using factory 10mm, blazer, magtech, s&b, sig and factory and wilson mags. Nothing fixes the issues. Continued the break in process using reccomended fp-10 and cleaning every 50 rounds. 650 rounds later and i'm still getting inadvertent slide lock and ftf every 2-3 magazines. What gives? do i send it back? what would they even do? I'm worried i have a lemon, and honestly i don't wanna keep shooting tons and tons of rounds to no avail with how bad ammo costs have been and the scarcity in general. Thoughts? I could use some help.

Big question how experienced of a shooter are you? Do NOT mean that in any way to demean you!!! Sometimes the bigger calibers are sensitive to grip strength. Also, are you riding your thumbs on the slide? That can cause a few problems as well. Honestly for that kind of money, it shouldn't do that.

That's what I thought. I'm a big guy but no gorilla hands. I honestly think i hold the gun flatter than most 1911 45's I ride the thumb safety and support thumb contacts the frame not the slide. and no offense taken i appreciate the diagnostic questions.

    Everyone needs a woods gun.

You say you now spend zero days in the woods, but what if one fine morning you woke up and decided to have a woods day?

Without a woods gun, what would you do?
