I am wondering if the pistol I found is worth the asking price, if the stated description adds or helps retain any value. It is listed as a Dan Wesson Stainless Bobtail Commander, .45ACP, mint condition, with matching box and papers, early build before CZ buyout. Has jeweled barrel, night sights, round heel, checkered front strap, brown walnut/cocobolo? double diamond grips. Asking $1,500.

I'm guessing this before the model name Valor VBob came about? Pistol looks new in picture. Is this one rare or just different? I know the Valor line is discontinued.

    Thanks for any help.

Try Wholesale Hunter, Buds, or Grabagun. Probably find a new V-Bob for that price. Also check out the classifieds here. You may find one. Ads have been poppin up here with some frequency

Maybe put a WTB in the classified

What you found is a classic bobtail, aka c-bob. $1500 is too much.

Cherokee2u, I've found the one I posted about above in OP. Do you have an opinion on it's value? Is it worth the asking price. There are several on GunBroker, several listed as "Blems" those worry me. All on GB are over $1500.

Yep, too steep. Love my V-Bob (9mm) Stainless, and it was just north of $1,400 from Bud's about a year ago...

The guns built since CZ took over are better than the early guns. I wouldn’t pay $1,000 for that pistol.

I'd buy a new VBOB for around $1,500 and not have to worry about old and diminished night sights. I just had a CBOB (classic) built in 38 super from their custom shop.

My VBob is probably my most accurate and enjoyable DW gun to shoot. I would seek out a VBob that most likely can be found in that price range.

As has been stated over and over, yes, I believe that price is too high, BUT may I say, you ARE on the right track!

Man that's a beautiful CBOB 38 Super. I'd be interested in one of those myself but I bet it's a chunk of change from DW. I want it!!!

I had to come back and take one more look at azguy's 38 Super. Hope he gets tired of it quick, like by the end of the weekend.

Look on grab a gun or another service. Bought a Vbob stainless commander in 9mm for 1200 and change. I think the 45 model was mid 1300.

I guess I’m one messed up guy as I had a vbob and did not like it, traded it off!
