What caused the baffle strike

 

Me. I cross threaded the ASR attachment. Classic case of “head up a**” and not paying attention.

I explained it in those terms to Dead Air and they still stood by their warranty. Till now I thought the “old” Dillon Precision CS was the best I had ever seen but they may actually be better.

 

I was looking at their suppressors tonight for a 300 BO build. Good and timely info!

 

I shoot a Nomad 30 on my 300BO. It’s been reliable and quiet with subsonic ammo.

 

I have a Rugged Obsidian. Had a baffle strike and damaged the front cap. 45 can shooting 9mm.
Rugged sent me a new 9mm cap, no problems, just a few questions and then good-to-go.
I'm not sure of the cause and told them that. I was ready to buy a new cap.

I’ve heard similar stories about Rugged and Silencer Co CS being first rate. Fortunately, I haven’t had a need to use their services so can’t confirm from first hand experience. Any company that stands behind their products 100% in this day and age is commendable.

If you shoot suppressed firearms enough chances are good a baffle strike will happen eventually. Mounting issues and improperly threaded barrels are typically the problem with exceptions being a can that’s improperly assembled. If that should happen you’ll know it with the first round down range.

 

How does one 'cross thread' a precision thread ?

 

This one had an ASR adapter. The threads are course and evidently I had them crossed. When it stoped I didn’t check to see if it was fully seated. As I said above head up a**. No excuses.

 

Great I recently got mine and have not shot thru it yet..................and yes their CS sucks I tried to contact them and have gotten no where on a simple question. I was going to buy another one as I like the keymo but I think I am going to be going another route now.
