I'm looking for information about the differences between the 2019 and 2020 Staccato Ps. Am i right that the 2019 has the tree bark grips (gen 1) while the 2020's have the star grip (gen 2)?

If this is right, are those grips the only difference between the two modes?

I think the 2019 may have been a mix of Treebark and STI Gen 1 grips. The bigger difference is the 2019 was a 4.15" bbl (like its predecessors, the DS Tactical and the 4.0 Tactical), whereas the 2020 is 4.45" bbl.

i ordered the 4.15" but the pictures show the newer grip with the star on it. Do they make the 4.15" for 2020?

There were late 2019 model Staccato P’s that came with the Gen 2 grips. But, they do not make the 4.15” barrel Staccato P any longer.

Differences between the two I have noted:

-4.15” barrel for 2019 vs. 4.4” for 2020
-DLC Coated barrel in 2019 vs. Stainless in 2020
-Longer, swept up beavertail on 2019 vs. shorter, straighter beavertail on 2020
-Full length frame rail with multiple pic slots on 2019 vs. Shorter rail with single slot on 2020
-Different shaped hammer spur
-One less serration on the front and rear of the slide on the 2020 model
-Gen 1 stippled grip on 2019 vs molded Gen 2 star logo grip on 2020
-On the Duo models, the late 2019 and all 2020 models got a thinner RMR plate
-I don’t think the 2020 models are shipping with a magwell

Probably more differences but these are what I can think of right now.

2020 comes with a Dawson Precision tool less guide rod, and three different weights of recoil springs. The 2020 uses a different type of DLC coating that has a more matte look to it, and is more durable.

Im confused. Looks at Bucks comment above.
Buck was referring to the DLC on the rest of the gun, not the barrel.

The 2020 barrels are DLC free so no one can complain about wear marks appearing when you actually use your gun for more than Instagram posts!

Can't say I blame STI really...

Yes and sorry that I didn’t proof that post. Corrected my autocorrect “Barbet” to say STI.

Yes, people were complaining that the DLC was wearing in well, “wear prone areas”. Instead of constantly warrantying customer barrels or telling people they were stupid they just stopped DLC’ing barrels.

Yep, don’t blame them but I would rather have the worn DLC than none. I totally understand you can’t please everyone though.

The 2019 is available in an adult caliber, but the 2020 is not.

2019 comes with 2 mags and fixed rear sight.
2020 comes with 3 mags and adjustable rear sight.

2019 comes with magwell.
2020 does not!
