Im gonna pick up a plain rear sight, just want to make sure i dont buy the wrong one. I measured the current one at .375", which means i should get the extra tall one....right? http://www.10-8performance.com/products/1911-Low-Mount-Rear-Sight.html

Also, i was gonna have a local 'smith install this, as well as a wilson short trigger for me. This is a pretty simple job, correct? I dont want this guy butchering my gun. He said its easy, and ive read its simple.

    Thanks in advance.

are you measuring just the rear sight blade? if so, then yes, you need the tall one.

it's simple as long as he doesn't mess it up.

I am measuring the sight blade....problem is its curved, so i cant keep the calipers square when i measure. It actually seems to be between the two sizes....~.355?????

LOL. I hope he doesnt mess it up.

Nah, its either one of the 2 sizes.
You should be measuring the height and not the face of the sight.
