I've heard good things; a nice value for the price range, from what I understand.

I haven't handled one, though. Its price point is in that strange no man's land between the higher end production guns and the low-end semi-custom group.

Hate the roll mark and dust cover, but heard good things about them.

I think Brian has one in his "buyer's guide", though I think his has the plain dust cover.

I have handled one and they seem solid. Made close to me and there aren't many to be seen.
Probably would not pay that much for one since there isn't a lot of reviews.

Great gun for their price range IMO. I haven't got to fondle or shoot one yet, but that will most likely be my one and only railed 1911. I hear mixed reviews and that their customer service is pretty crappy. Would really like to shoot one first.

I think I would get the MC Operator, and spend the 500 I had left over on ammo, checerking the strap and refinishing it, or whatever tickles your fancy.

It's hard to beat for the pricing and features. But yeah, I would go MC OP too.

I think the DS is a great gun for the money, but that reverse dust cover is a little too much for me.

I just purchased the non rail from buds and I should pick it up today. For me it came down to this or a non rail TRP. I chose the DS due to the lack of MIM, the gi guide rod and it didn't have the stupid lock in the msh. I also didn't want an ambi safety. The price was a little less, but I plan to add night sights and a magwell so that is moot.

This is my first full size 1911 since a bad experience with a DW ~ 2003-2004. I purchased a Sig C3 earlier this year and I love it. I hope my DS ends up to be a good decision.

The Non-Railed has a Full Length Two Piece Rod. The one thing I had a love hate with... I like the idea but mine was badly made, and was a bitch to get apart.
