My 65 year old sister carries a Sig 938. It's a handful being 9mm in that small package, but she lives on a ranch and stays proficient by shooting at least a couple days a month and the recoil doesn't bother her. She's 5'6" and maybe 160 lbs but since she's older, she probably has less upper body strength than your 110 lb wife. So...I'd stick with the superior 9mm ballistics and skip the .380 pistols.

Another vote here for the P938, especially the Legion model. It gets you a slightly larger capacity mag with room for your pinky, tiny magwell (adorbs), xray 3 night sights, G10 grips and the flat aluminum trigger. Yes it’s a bit snappy and does bark but it’s the smallest 9mm 1911-ish platform I’ve found, and I honestly love shooting it.

Another oddball recommendation in the other direction would be the Bul Armory Ultralight Pro. Phenomenally quick and well handling short 2011, great reviews, large capacity, smallish footprint.

As MedicGunGuy said:- Wilson SFX9 3.25" 10 round frame. Extremely well built, 1911 style EDC. Same manual of arms. Extremely reliable with all ammo. She'll love it. Thank us both later.

Especially since she shoots 1911s and 2011s, you have a platform that is identical to what she is used to. Carries well, conceals well, and shoots amazingly well.

Hey everyone, hoping yall can help me in the right direction.

My wife loves 1911s and 2011s. Has a full size platypus and a full size kimber. She is looking for something way smaller to be able to edc, however she would like to stay similar to what she currently has.
My wife is extremely tiny, 5'1 and maybe 110lbs. She is looking at maybe a kimber micro or a browning 380. Any and all advice would be extremely helpful
I'd avoid the Kimber Micro. I had a brief experience with one. Very brief. Otherwise, lots of good recommendations here. I'm built rather narrow and haven't figured out how to conceal the heft of a 4" 1911. Unless I can find a way to hide my DW TCP (let alone the .45 Guardian!), I'm starting to look at one of the small 9mm Sigs. Good luck! 🦈

My wife is petite as well. She carries a S&W 686+ with a 3" barrel. Fantastic carry gun. For EDC she loads 38 +p gold dots and for woods carry the Underwood 158 grain black cherry 38 +ps (phenominal load)

I carry my Kimber micro 380 and micro 9 frequently. The bodyguard 2.0 just sucked especially the trigger. A mcarbo kit on my micro 9 takes the trigger pull to just below 5 lbs. The thing I really like about the Kimber micros is you can clear the round in the chamber after dropping the mag with the safety on.you can get flush fit mag or 7&8 rounds for the 9s

I would also recommend a Nighthawk T4 if you can afford it. It’s one of my best shooting pistols I own.

Before deciding on a gun, I would think about how she will carry? On body or off body (purse)? What's her level of proficiency? Does she just shoot her guns, or does she work on drawing from a holster and flipping the safety on/off as needed? Is she proficient at reloading and clearing malfunctions, keeping the gun clean and lint free, etc. Basically, is she willing to train with whatever gun she carries?

These are all considerations when deciding what gun might work best for her. Or maybe she's a USPSA GM and has all the above covered?

My wife isn't much for shooting, so I stick with ease-of-use revolvers for her (4" K frame .38s.) She also has a bad habit of putting her thumb behind the slide of semi-autos, hence revolvers. She's not really willing to take the time to master a semi-auto and learn reloading/malfunction drills.

Although not always easy to shoot, a 5-6 shot revolver may be a good option for a non-gun person to CCW.

Springfield armory emp. Their been discontinued but my son in law bought a near nib for $500. It's in 9mm and a blast to shoot. He finds more deals on guns than anyone i know. A great carry piece. I tried to buy it from him, maybe later

I've owned most of the guns suggested and the vast majority are good.

But a Dan Wesson ECO with a Wilson Combat magwell (drops right in) is where I landed. It's an excellent carry pistol.
