Eotech EFLX

Anyone got their hands on an ELFX for their Staccato? i know it has the DPP footprint so it shouldn’t need a plate, I am wondering if you can still use the standalone rear sight kit as you would with the DPP or do you need that slot in the back of the DPP thus not being able to run a rear sight with the EFLX?

Didn’t even know this one existed
Bummer, no dot in donut
to whom it may concern, sage dynamics said it was trash, several bad reports of reliability issues which is strange coming from Eotech, I got like 3 of their Holo's

I am pretty much RMR only unless its closed emitter which seems to be the future of optics

Wow. that is strange, i guess i had taken their reputation for creating quality optics at face value. Thanks for the information!
Sage Dynamics is a shill for Holosun, I don’t trust his opinion on anything that has to do with mrds if they’re a Holosun competitor.

Remember when his holosun literally fell apart during a review and he didn’t acknowledge it and dismissed/swept it under rug when brought up?

He definitely loves his holosuns though he gave positive remarks on the Acro P2 and Steiner MPS.

For what it's worth Modern Samurai does not even place eotech on his list of reliable optics.

With so many good options available today I would be weary of the eotech for any serious use.
We have one of these in our shop. Seems cool, not super interested though in hearing the odd reports.
I seem to recall another member attempting to mount the Eotech on his Staccato and the protruding from not clearing the factory optic cut. He said he would either need a spacer to raise the Eotech or to make a relief cut into the slide for the optic to sit in the optic cut.
I have one of these on the way to me this week. I'm not sure if I'll mount it on my Staccato, but I may be able to offer some feedback on it once I get it to the range either way.

^^ Happy to share both asap. I just sent my XDM .45 out to Powder River Precision for slide milling, and I bought the Eotech for that, but I may end up putting it on the P. All my optics guns are set up for the DPP, so the Eotech is compatible with all of them.

Eotech’s in general or their EFLX?

EFLX

His top 3 are closed emitter: Acro P2, Steiner MPS, and 509T. Followed by the RMR.

And yeah, the video where the glass literally launches itself 10 feet in front of his Glock while he’s shooting is priceless.
I like Cowan, but I take everything he says, and most gun internet celebs, with a massive grain of salt.
its been confirmed by multiple people that the eotech will need a plate to work on a staccato

I got my Eotech today - and I agree with n4P226r. I didn't realize this when I bought it, but I didn't buy it specifically for the Staccato anyway.
It literally doesn't fit properly in the cutout that Staccato offers. If the screws were installed, they would probably begin to thread, but there is a noticeable gap between the bottom of the sight and the slide near the front of the cutout. Definitely a no-go.

So, I tried it on my Sig Legion X5, and I didn't like the extra play in that cutout either. Adding to this, the Sig doesn't have any "pegs" (for lack of a better term) milled into the cutout to help stabilize the optic, as it would rely only on the screws (with the Eotech) and the cutout is much larger than the optic itself (probably at least 1mm on each end), so for me this was also a no-go.

On my Shadow 2, the optic sits much higher on a plate bought for the DPP, which includes the previously mentioned "pegs". This was a better fit, and (in my opinion) is much more likely to survive under normal use. For now, I'll leave it on here.

I haven't zeroed it yet or taken it to the range, but initial thoughts - it's smaller than the DPP by quite a bit. Probably not quite the window size of a RMR, but closer to it with a thinner outer frame. Looking indoors only so far, I'd say the glass is excellent, and the dot is very crisp and bright. The controls are easy to use, and it's not ugly by any means (sorry to Aimpoint Acro users - it almost looks like you could watch movies on that thing).

I'll check back in after shooting it a couple times, but for now (and for the $$) I'd say it's going to be ok.

Long story short, I ended up taking this off the Shadow 2 and putting it on a 4.5" XDM .45 that I just had Powder River Precision mill for an optic. Went to the range late this afternoon for the first time. It zeroed easily and seemed to hold zero pretty well. I'd say I had it zeroed within a 2" distance at 10 yards in less than 5 shots. I do really like the larger open glass views it provides, and (for me) the dot is as crisp and clean as any I've ever used (including my Comp M5's on my rifles). So what's the down side? Twice while I was shooting, the brightness settings changed all by themselves. This is not one of the optics like some RMR's that self-adjust to peripheral light as far as I'm aware, and twice today it "dimmed" about 2 settings while I was in the middle of a 13 round magazine. I'll check the manual on this to make sure I'm not being critical of a feature it's designed with, and I will give this another shot at the range. This was never going to be on a defensive-type pistol for me anyway, but this is not something I'd be willing to overlook on a $350+ optic. I'll be back with more info once I have it...

2-3 range trips later, and it's working perfectly and holding zero as expected. This was today, 2 full mags at 10 yards.

Sent my EFLX to the mothership today after I got my RMA. The glass fell out while shooting. Will post as to Eotechs responses and actions after they receive it.
