Make sure you read the break-in and cleaning material instructions. Pretty intense.

    The ECP is real nice!

Buy yourself a bottle or two of FP-10. Don't use CLP/Break-Free, it will dis-color/stain the finish.

Great first handgun, my good friend, gun smith and local gun store owner has a similar ECP that has been 100% reliable and very accurate. Enjoy your ECP.

Nice pistol. I have about 2,000 rounds through mine which I bought a couple of weeks ago. It is now my EDC.

Any malfunctions? Was there a break in period ?

I think with any 1911 there's always a break-in period .......kind of. I shot the gun REAL wet and the first 200 rounds were factory ball ammo. Zero malfunctions. Then about 1500 rounds of my hand loads (200 grain plated ball and flat point) which is all varied "range" brass. I had a few hiccups with these. I blame that on the ammo.

Lastly, I shot about 100 rounds of my carry ammo. I had quite a few issues (inertia feeds) which I attributed to the magazines (Wilson Combat with older springs). I then ran some Chip McCormick mags with zero issues so I called it GTG. That's when I started carrying it.

I wouldn't say cleaning the gun every fitty rounds is "intense"
