Well, I am ready to go! 116 rounds in mags. Les Baer lubed up. It is playing nicely with the STI 2011 and the two Glocks.

Feed it a lot, and feed it often!

And...116 flawless rounds through it. Time to reload. I bought from a gentleman here who had put 300 rounds through it .I intend today to get it well past 500 rounds. ..using Baer recommended American Eagle 230gr FMJ.

Got to love the big old .45 ACP.

    Have fun.

I recently picked up a Baer myself. I broke it in using American Eagle 230 grain. Both factory Baer mags and WC ETM mags work great.

Looks like I need to work on the sights. I think I may put a fiber optic in front. This is 20 shots off bag at 20 yards. I was holding dead center on bull. View attachment 212353

It’s not playing with the Glocks, it’s tolerating them. Nothing like shooting a Baer. BTW what kind of stogie?

Following your Sat morning range day and it looks like a lot of fun. I kinda want to get a Les Baer too. Thinking 38 Super!

Well duh...no wonder shots are placing to the left!

Check out the rear sight placement. Way over to left. :)

    A few taps and...presto.

I threw the wrapper away. It is a good smoke even after spending three weeks in my center console in my truck in the cold.

I am probably the wrong one to ask about a 38 Super, just a faster caliber I don't own yet and think I need. Probably should just get a LB in 9mm. I have three 45acp's and one 9mm 1911.

Wonderfully accurate round, high velocity(nice and hot), low recoil, high capacity(9-11 rounds)and damn near perfect in 1911 platform(much better performance than 9mm).....also known as 38 Superb!!!!!!!!

Light recoiling (like 9mm) but with COAL equal to 45 auto. In other words, 38 super is a light recoiling round that plays very well with the 1911 platform.

Is this anything to be concerned about? Cases bouncing off port like this? 15491261928815116553501590045829.jpg

    Final report.

500 flawless rounds. Got it nice and heated up. Ran like a well oiled. .. um. .. Les Baer.

    Easier to rack.

    Grip screws are all loose.

I honestly hate the sights. I need to change them. Will explore options.

    Suggestions?

I replace sights on my Glocks all the time.

Easy to do on a 1911?

I am thinking black adjustable rear and front thin front post with fiber optic or Yellow/green trijicon may be best for me.

    Sights?
I love a dawson green front FO and 10-8 Unotch rear.
Rear sight is easy peasy. Front sight will have a blind pin hole. This can be difficult but I just used my hand drill and went slow. Didn't care if I wallowed out the front sight pin hole on my sight as well, Baer Night sights are crap anyways.

Alum punch provided by Dawson, vice, hammer, cheap diamond files from Harbor freight, and bingo. Go slow and steady.

    Did all 4 of these.
