No idea about flitz, but I assume you're talking about your Guncrafter(s). My NH T4 gets brass kisses and I wipe them the best I can with a cloth and FP-10. It gets some of it off, the rest I leave because next range trip I'll just end up with them again. My advice is to embrace them as character.
the company i buy all my AR barrels from sells only melonite barrels, well a few stainless, but 90% melonite. he advises to use zero abrasive of any grit on the heat treated surface, it's like case hardening, it can be rubbed off, normal wear is good, just no abrasives. and frog lube is known to change the color of the melonite.
After a normal cleaning - typically with Slip2000 products, I use Gibbs spray lubricant on melonite. It shipped with my Nighthawk and use it on my Guncrafter as well. Haven't seen any side effects. I had an older Guncrafter I suspect someone used a harsh cleaner on, as it was very gray instead of black. (purely cosmetic)
