Bill, I saw in another thread you had interest in a quill mounted indicator for the 'Z' axis. Here are a few pics of my set-up: Pretty self explanatory. Tight fitting stud in the hole of the quill stop, secured with a set screw at an angle. I vastly prefer an analog read-out vs a digital for the 'Z' axis Got a couple of cheap, new clappers in this afternoon. One Fowler, one offshore. Both feel great and seem capable of .001" accuracy. Both from MSCdirect.com. Total cost for both was like $45! There is a part of me that loves cheap tools! Also a pic of the spindle mounted light. I love this thing! Cheap and available on E-Bay. Next time I'm down your way, I'll buy you dinner at the Steak-Out in Sonoita.
