Just wanted to throw this out for all you fellow addicts a enthusiasts, who if like me are constantly cleaning your own guns, persistent about changing springs, and asinine about my gun being cleaned everywhere. Lol.. For those of you who struggle from time to time removing your FPS, this little tool is an absolute must have. Its made by SDM is only $20, and worth every last penny. Trust me if you use it once you'll use it 100 times. TWF, you may actually need this for your V-Bob lol. FPS isn't tight but lets just say it needs to be straight when you install it lol. 1217182116~2.jpg

Apparently, I haven't kept up with the acronyms. What does FPS stand for?

When your fitting an OS FPS you tap it into place and it can be a little hard to get out when it's wedged tight and to keep from scoring it up, beating it up, scratching etc this works to just tap it out.. With the firing pin in place you press this in push down on the FPS and the tail of the part stops the spring and just really makes life a whole lot easier.

    Ah. Thanks Steve.

I never fit a firing pin stop to an interference fit. Even when making them from scratch. I want zero movement, but no friction.

Maybe that's why I can get away with using a punch. :)

That’s one of those tools you never think about until you use it the first time when fitting a firing pin stop. I used to use a punch or mainspring housing pin tool. Now that I have one that I acquired in a box of smithing tools I use it all the time.

Absolutely love mine, when you have a firing pin stop in and out a dozen times it definitely saves a ton of work, just effortless to put it in and take it out with when fitting one.. Great little tool, and like AZpoolguy said use it once and you'll never reach for the punch again lol.

EGW makes a very similar tool. They are handy. Also 20 bucks.
