Recently I read that a member had a problem with a new 1911 slide stuck after firing it at the range. This happened to me on my brand new Ruger after firing just two rounds. It was returned to Ruger and after a few weeks it has fired without a flaw. They said that it had a burr and was polished out.

Makes sense I guess. Did you disassemble and check it out before firing? Just wondering if you could have spotted it?

I disassembled it prior to the first range trip and did a cleaning of it. Then after it failed stripped and assembled it again. It has been flawless through 4 weekly trips at 75 rounds each. Much better than my Sig 1911 9mm which will fail to eject after 75 rounds.
