Focusing my collection on 70 Series Government models, so these are on the block.

LW Colt Commander Pre-70 series (1952) 38 super, customized by King's Custom (I did not receive a build list when I bought this). Comes with paperwork and two piece Colt box numbered to the gun. $1895 SOLD

    Colt Commander 70 series (1977) 9mm Luger - No Box $1595

Colt Commander 80 series (1984) 45 ACP No Box. $1095

Colt 38 SFVI 38 spl. comes with blue plastic Colt box with partial Colt 38SFVI label. $1295

Colt Detective Special Blue 38 spl. 1966 and 1970. $795 each.

Prices do not include shipping. FFL to FFL (unless your FFL accepts from individuals).

The only trades I would be interested in would be: a 70 series bright Nickel government model in 9mm and a Blue 70 series Government model in 9mm steyr.

I shouldn’t ask but I will, what’s the vintage of the 9mm commander? Doubt it’s California eligible but maybe?

You young 'uns may not know King's Gun Works was another fine 1911 gunsmithing shop and parts company that produced some excellent stuff.

I wish they were still around.

Nice King's Commander! What's it look like under the Pachmayrs? Have you looked the gun over and made a list of the changes you found? Any idea when they worked on it? Did they stamp the frame?
    Thanks

Simon, It is a 70 series, 1977. Bill

I have not taken the pachmayrs off. I can and will take pics if you like. Have not had it apart. I did not see any other stamps. I picked this gun and two others up from a collection awhile back and planned on shooting this one. Never took it to the range, (I had a LW Bobtailed WC Professional in 38 super that ate most of my ammo).

I just posted pics of the LW Commander field stripped..frame is clean, a few handling marks on the bead blasted portion of the front strap. They stamped the slide on the inside with an "XX" and the frame with an "X".. I took a pic of the later.

Les, Take a look at the additional pics. Frame looks good. The slide to frame fit is amazing. LMK, Bill
