Who makes a government frame with a full rail?? Ron
I don't know rails from shinola but is this a full rail?
No that is a normal railed frame not full
Hey Mark.. That's a standard "short" rail, but that will probably be what I use. I'd like to use Caspian anyhow and it'll be a 6" longslide. Looks like the Caspian frame and matching longslide would be the way to go.. However.. A full railed 6" longslide would make a wicked range pistol.. yes... Ron
Have you checked out Remsport? I know they are difficult to find info on as they don't have their own site.
I can't find anyone that sells them. I need to speak with jay (pistolsmith) and get him looking..
The Les Baer mono heavyweight 9mm may be the better option.. Or even the ConceptV 6".. Ron
You just call them directly.
what he said
Ohhhhhhh yeeeaaaaaaah. Check their specials page occasionally. They put out some sweet deals from time to time.
Remsport says they do not.. Ron
just an FYI since you mentioned them, I'm going on 11 weeks for them to deliver a frame and slide. They've stopped answering emails and by telephone the young lady answering says it's in production...I'm getting frustrated with the long lead time and somewhat shoddy service. Just sharing. Ive been known to be impatient but 11 weeks...Id likely not buy from there again.
230gr, 11 weeks? That's crazy. I would be impatient too. We'll hear about yet another new company offering a 1911 built on Caspian receivers no doubt. I'm waiting for the 1911 market to reach a saturation point and the herd to stampede in another direction. I might be waiting a loooong time though.
That is crazy.. Possibly I'm better off just buying complete pistols and having them built out.. Ron
I dont think I ordered anything extravagant...5" stainless slide and frame, fit slide to frame. I'm upset about it the last few days, so I haven't called them but perhaps I will in the morning. I'm tempted to say the hell with it and cancel it but I have close to a grand in small parts sitting on my work table waiting...
edit: let me back track...they accepted it on 8 Jul so...10 weeks.
Ron , check with Fusion ..
I looked at the fusion site today.. This will be my 2nd winter project.. Ron
If it's going to be a range gun, then just get the new RIA Tactical 2011, it's a full rail chamber in 45ACP. There has been some great reviews on it.
That was going to be my next suggestion
It would be like buying a $500 parked steel frame... Ron
Oh I know. The problem,as you have discovered is that they aren't readily available.
Kinda makes your project difficult to complete
