Glock triggers really suck.

I've got into 1911s pretty good the last few months. I wanted to really shoot, carry, purchase and work on all things 1911. I've done it before with ARs and Glocks. So this year was the year of the 1911 for me and it's been a lot of fun.

So after picking up stock 19x and do some dry fire Holy Hell the trigger sucks.

The new performance trigger Glock recently released is getting really good reviews. Coupled with a few changes through Johnny Glock and it's supposed to be the finest striker fired trigger on the market. I've not tried it, but this is what I keep reading. Also, the new trigger has blue label pricing if you're a cop or military.

I like apex. It’s a great out of the box trigger

Interesting I'll check it out
You mean you don’t like shooting low and left??🤣

I’m not much into Gucci glocks but the apex triggers seem to be preferred. For me the grip angle is more of an issue. I find that when it comes to plastics, i am most accurate with a shadow systems gun with the “1911” style backstrap.

Trigger work on a Glock is not unlike smearing lipstick on a pig. I tried Johnny Glock’s drop-in Evo-X Combat trigger with polished striker and metal shoe in my G45. It was an upgrade over the feel of the stock trigger. There is a reliably firm wall and less slop before the break, which is crisp. That said, it is not in the same league as a 1911/2011 trigger, so I ended up just going back to the stock trigger to keep things simple.

1) Press out towards target, aligning sights
2) Swipe off safety
3) Trigger press
4) Front sight rebounds over target.....trigger press
5) Keep feeding it and pressing the trigger.....the upgrade will be appreciated each shot

Keep doing this for a few thousand rounds. In time, YOU will be upgraded to match your already excellent 1911 trigger.

EDIT: I misunderstood your question....was thinking it was for improving the 1911....now I see you were referring to the the Glock.

I have a WC flat trigger pad on my G19....feels good.

I put a Johnny Glock trigger in my G40.....not really impressed.

If I were going to try again....it'd be with a Timney Trigger in the Glock.

I got the WC flat trigger group. It makes the Glock a bit better. But striker fired triggers are not the same beast as a nice SA trigger like the 1911... I was taught to shoot the Glock with the trigger near the first joint of my trigger finger, use the pad of my finger on the 1911.

I really like CMC flat trigger, like an L shaped, and ghost connector, with polished internals.

I like starting with a great 2011 trigger...then build a 2011 around it. :)

I don't mind the Glock trigger at all. The only other one I have experience with is the SA XD and I prefer the Glock.
Welcome to the entire reason 1911/2011s are popular with most; the trigger. Glocks will always feel like a staple gun in comparison.

Had em all.
Prefer in order:
  1. Overwatch Precision TAC
  2. APEX
  3. Johnny Glock Combat (upgrade)
Stay away from the Timney- had nothing but problems with both the out of box and the one Johnny Glock upgraded for me.

I like the JG trigger systems on my 19x and 43x; not comparable to 1911/2011 triggers though.

It's not as good as my Walthers, but I like the stock trigger on my Glock 19X

I bought the Timney, and it worked just fine in my G22.5. Later I added Johnny Glocks carry upgrade for the Timney. Still works fine. Someday, JG may offer his combat upgrade for gen 5s? We'll see.

This is a stolen quote from JGIORD at The Firing Line in 2005: The Firing Line Forums - View Single Post - glock triggers suck

You joined a year and a half ago but only started posting in the last week; some of your posts are original and some are direct copy-and-pastes from other forums. What gives?

if you don't go 1911, and you don't like Glock, check out the trigger on the Walther P-99.Very smooth D/A- S/A.

Agree with what Mitesh said: "Trigger work on a Glock is not unlike smearing lipstick on a pig." Be very careful with aftermarket triggers for glocks. Some of them lighten or effect the trigger pull by defeating the internal safety mechanisms. I personally will not do anything to a glock other than changing to a "-" connector. If you're shooting low left, experiment with finger placement on the trigger and find the spot that will allow the most mechanical advantage pulling the trigger absolutely straight to the rear. It all comes down to where the sights are as the bullet leaves the barrel. If the sights are aligned you get a centered shot.

I knew an instructor who, when told by a student that the gun was shooting low left, would flip it upside down and stack holes in the X ring at 7 yards to demonstrate that theory.

The best striker-fired trigger is horrible.
