I might have the coolest wife ever. Not only does she bring scotch back for me when she travels, she just gave me my 50th birthday present. She booked a class at Thunder Ranch for me. My birthday isn’t until November and the class is this September but she wanted to get it booked. This will be my first class ever so I’m looking for some good info on what to bring and what to expect. Also need recommendations on a flashlight as I believe there will be some low light training. As for guns I will bring my Baer Comanche as a primary gun and my DW Guardian as a backup just in case. To say I’m excited barely covers it.

I’ll be flying. Too long of a drive from Chicago. My wife gets plenty of frequent flyer miles. Will be my first time flying with guns.

Certainly get a quality flashlight with a push button tail cap; Clint prefers to use a rubber ring vs a lanyard and he’ll show you why in class. Holster choice is also really important for the class.

Oh I read your trip report forward and back. As far as holsters I carry in a TT gunleather IWB but for the class I will go OWB. Just don’t know which one yet. I have a Galco that I’m not thrilled with. I’m contemplating dare I say it “kydex”. Good to know about the light. Thanks.

That's an outstanding wife to be sure! One of the handiest things for classes is to have an ammo dump bag. It's that third hand you need when you pick up mags, holds your ammo pending reloading mags, holds an uplula loader, etc. I modded mine with smooth headed screws holding the straps closed instead of all the weight on the snaps.
