Yep, just had this exact conversation with my wife. My local news sites are reporting the POS got off one round before two members of the congregation ended the encounter. Had this been in NY, NJ, etc I have no doubt more would have been murdered.

Thoughts and prayers to those hurt and killed, and God bless Texas !

A witness told CBS 11 News the gunman walked up to a server during communion with a shotgun and then opened fire. According to the witness, another church member — identified as a former FBI agent and part of the church’s security — shot the suspect.

That video is just awful, it looks like this is the only thing we can do against crazy, wished there was a way to have 0 victims. Just awful. I live in NJ myself and the OP is probably right if it was here it would of been so much worse. Would love to change the laws here on carry because I feel it just benefits the bad guys.

Without major changes, the US will only see more cowardly acts, like this. There are a lot of angles that need addressed. Unfortunately, the train is on a downhill run, in the wrong direction. The easiest way to make these stop is to no longer have guaranteed soft targets. Carry must be encouraged everywhere.
