1911 Mags by Mossad Ayoob...
For my guns without magwells I use a Wilson 47DC which is the 8rnd model with lo-profile steel base pad for concealment. On guns with magwell I really am liking the Wilson ETMs. Both mags in both style guns have worked perfectly for me.
I do have a Colt 9mm Commander and found the CMC mags to work fine. I forget the model but they came in a ziploc bag with yellow paper insert?
I like the Wilson 7-round 47s myself. Thank you for the link!
Most of my mags are Wilson or Chip McCormick's...
However... I have fallen victim to the Ed Brown Magazine trade in .... to the tune of about a dozen or so 45 and a good number of 9mm ....lol
So far the EB Mags have been flawless...
My mag stockpile is as follows
Mostly Chip McCormick power mags
Next is Tripp Cobra Mags
Then we have the Wilson etm’s
(Except my officers size they’re all Wilson)
The balance is various factory mags from all brands.
I'm 90% Wilson 8 rnd mags loaded to 7rnds like Mas says. But I dont do it because he says. It just always made sense to me.
90% of my mags are Wilson, I also have Tripp Cobras that have been great. I do have several CMC mags that have functioned fine but I don't prefer them.
I tend to do the same thing … Don't really know why …
At the range I use eight round 500 HD’s with a low profile steel base plate.
I use the seven round HD’s for carry. In the past I put seven rounds in an eight round mag but prefer the seven round which are shorter.
wilsons, mccormick(now owned by wilson) and tripps are the best for me in 9mm and 45 acp.
although my NHC mags work well too
I also when to the Ed Brown trade in routine. My main go to mags are Chip Mc & Wilsons. But like previously stated, The Ed Browns in .45 & 9mm have work perfectly. Time will tell. You can't beat the EB trade in deal. It's great. .45, 9mm & 10mm.
