Received a response to my FOIA inquiry that was submitted back in February. The pistol was issued to D Company, 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment in the 101st Airborne Division from November 2016 until April 2019. I may contact the 1st BN to see if they have any additional records on the pistol. Not sure if it was ever overseas or if it spent its service life at Fort Campbell. Eric from the Sig Sauer Guy store hooked me up with a nice 3D printed display stand with the deployment info listed.

That was definitely worth the effort, the stand is icing on the cake. Nice job!

Too bad it wasn’t Easy Coy, then it would have been in a very historic unit

I get what you are trying to say. However Easy Company, 506th Was disbanded in 1945.

Easy Company’s lineage is carried by A. Co, 2-506 Infantry, 3rd BCT

    OP,

Nice gun! I bought the commercial version as soon as it came out.

The 1-502nd ("First Strike") as part of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team / 101st AASLT deployed to Iraq in May of 2017 and returned in January 2018. I don't think they've gone downrange since then. Hard to know if your pistol made it on that particular pump.

Delta Company 1-502 (unit coin pic attached) is a Heavy Weapons Company with six platoons (nicknames are around the coin). Each battalion has a anti-armor / heavy weapons company that is motorized, which is almost always the fourth maneuver company (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie are the regular 'line' infantry MTOE companies). The Heavy Weapons Companies have the TOW II missiles, .50 cal, Mk19s etc.

I've been out of a couple of years, but that's the long/short of it.
