Howdy,
New to this forum but not to gun, knife, outdoors sites in general. Some may recognize my name from other sites. Been using it close 20 years.
I've always been a 1911 fan and have owned many a 1911 but sad to say don't currently own one.
I'll be soliciting advice on finding a quality (read Dan Wesson level up to entry Wilson Combat) 1911 to be my primary shooter. Looking for a traditional steel 5" Government with preferably a smooth slide without forward serrations. Considering aforementioned Dan Wesson Valor. Springfield Armory TRP and Professional; Les Baer Premier, SRP, Tactical or TR. Wilson CQB?
Would love to hear thoughts or be directed to threads featuring like discussions. Am open to PM's with suggestions as well.
I'm a nearing retirement Fire Captain/Paramedic and enjoy tactical medical discussions as well.-Cycletroll

Hi! I Love TN! Lived in Western NC for 8 years going to school. TN is a great state!
Yeah, I am a recovering Upstate New Yorker (Rochester) and married a TN girl. Promised her family I would bring her back home as soon as I could. Made that happen 6 years ago.
Don't miss New York for a second. Well, some of the regional food, but not the weather, taxes or politics!

Amen to that!
My wife and myself are both native New Mexicans but are considering relocating to another state due the rampant liberal Politics manifesting here in NM. Taxes are medium but climbing and gun control is in the wind.
TN is definitely under consideration. So is Wyoming :)

I would suggest TN or even Alabama. I have actually purchased a home there in Gulf Shores. The weather is even better than TN, and it is another tax and gun friendly state.
