The Complete Book of the Model 1911, The Custom Edition has an article featuring me on page 68, and Jim on page 69. Actually the article is about Les Baer Custom, but our names made the article..:biggrin1:

So, I guess, as someone said before. "We're kind of a big deal".

I do have many leather bound books. Merlin Olsen used to come over for dinner before he died last year.

Indeed he is! I was shocked when I got the e-mail from Pat telling me about it. Even more shocked when I got the proof copy and there was Chuck and others. It was very humbling being in a list with some of those guys....very humbling.

Congratulations to all those mentioned. I haven't seen a copy of that mag in years. I'll definitely find this issue.

    That's great.

Now, stop looking at yourself in a magazine and get back to work!!!

Someone actually sent me a text with a picture of the magazine, and said that I was in it. I had to guy buy it. Next thing you know, I'm running around like Steve Martin in The Jerk..."the new phone book's here; the new phone book's here".

It's really cool that we can chat with the fellas that are written and talked about in the rags. I feel fortunate to be around such talent.

Hopefully we will see more write-ups on those we call friends here in the future. They deserve the recognition for the work they do.

Outstanding that many here get the recognition they deserve.
IMO, many are more talented than some of the "big name" Smiths
    mentioned in that gunrag.

I would also hope that those whom tinker with cars/
know how to properly label spark plug wires, unlike Les! :rofl2:

He can't label spark plug wires right either? Not surprising. Everything he knows about his cars is book learned.

I have a good deal of respect for Les,
However, in the article about the Boss 45, #5 and #6 plug wires are side by side!

It may sound petty, but attention to detail with this Boss 429 is lacking.
