This project is coming to a close so I thought I’d give the forum a sneak peek of the latest gun off my bench while it’s still in the white.
This is the Firearms Engravers Guild of America- Colt 1911 2019 Auction gun. Each year a few FEGA Master Engravers volunteer their time to create a new piece to be auctioned at the following years show. This year we chose a Colt 1911 as our canvas. John Powers did the prep work. Brian Powley installed the gold borders and I designed and engraved the rest including the multi colored inlay of the FEGA shield. When it goes in the case for the last time we’ll have over 250 hours involved in its creation. If you are interested in seeing or participating in the auction you can visit the FEGA website for info on our show. Jan 25-27 the weekend after SHOT Show at the Westgate in Las Vegas. I certainly will. If be been too busy to participate in any of the forums lately but I’m trying to slow down a bit and become more active in the community. Thanks!

What a beautiful example of the art of engraving; to say “well done” is inadequate.

Wow. Beautiful work. I can't own a pistol like that, even if I could afford it, because I'd have to shoot it at least once.
