It's whitetail season here in Ohio, and I shot this beauty last night at my dad's farm. Used a stainless Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in 45 Colt, loaded with 300gr XTP hollowpoints at 1350fps. I no more than walked out of the garage to start out and this guy was standing in the driveway behind my truck... it wasn't a safe shot as it was facing the road, but I stood still while he trotted down into the woods and over a hill. I ran to the edge of the tree line and lined up on him, waiting for him to slow up. He did between a couple of trees, and I held a little high and let a shot off. Missed. He still just stood there, not knowing what happened... I cocked back and banged off another one - and he dropped like a sack of potatoes. Paced it off at 80 yards. First buck I've ever taken, pretty pumped. And fun to do it with a wheelgun!
