Hard chrome finisher

I’m looking for someone to hard chrome a 2011 frame and slide. The usual suspects all get mixed reviews at best.I’m wanting brushed flats and matte rounds.Beginning to realize this is a dying art.If there is someone left that is a craftsman I would appreciate the recommendation.

One of the best just passed away. It'll be interesting to see who some of the best custom builders go to.

We lost 2-3 hard chrome finishers last year for various reasons. All at the top level. Hard chrome is an art and I've yet to find someone I'd thoroughly trust. Check into Chromium Nitride..

Thanks for the replies.Mine was at one of the best.Unfortunately he passed away before it was finished.I’m disappointed I won’t have a gun Terry finished.

Huge loss for the family and shooting community. The true craftsman are disappearing faster than there being replaced. If you find a solution gun guy please let me know.
I was thinking of sending something to Ford's, anyone use them before?
Not sure who Alchemy uses but their hard chrome gets high marks & in photos looks great - may try reaching out to them, see if they will share the information

Looked into APW and got very mixed reviews.Older work seemed great.Lately mixed results at best. Some builders are now a hard pass.Would love to find a small shop offering heirloom quality work the first time.

I would suggest before you discount Bob Cogan, give him a call and have a discussion what you seek and how can he help.
Just sayin'

"Found out the other day that the industry lost one of the greats...Terry Wolford....Terry and I worked together back in the early 90s for Horace Booth when he owned checkmate guns.."

No experience, please report back if you try them.

I have only handled one gun where Coogan did more than simply hard chrome and I would say based on that I would never send him anything for more than hard chrome & not sure I would use him even for that
