As to your Coon*ss question... Cajuns are (were) considered by many to be a lower class than certain darker skinned people... by many Cajuns it is considered a term of endearment but only when said or used by another Cajun.
Sort of like the “N” word, if you aren’t black, probably shouldn’t say it...
