I'm getting ready to buy first 1911, so I got on here to do a little lurking, and maybe ask a few questions from time to time. I just got in to guns about four years ago, and have been making my way through them all trying to figure out what I like. I started with Target pistols, to revolvers, and then on to the wonder nines. 1911's were always intimidating with the higher price tags, but sometime around my 20th gun purchase I realized I'd rather have one gun I really loved instead of 4 that didn't do much for me. I'm looking at getting a commander size 1911 in 9mm for carry. I'm also considering a Staccato C. The biggest appeal to me on the Staccato would be slapping a micro dot on top. I do like to shot my pistols a lot, and find the dot is just a little easier on the eyes. Although, it seems like it may take me a little longer to aquire it than iron sights. I've pretty much got the 1911 Commander narrowed down to one of the Dan Wessons, or a Ed Brown KC9. Whichever one of these I get would be my primary carry, and I'd like to start shooting matches before too long. I currently carry a P365 and feel like I could lug around 30 oz or so without too much trouble. I do have plans for a full size in 45, but that will be farther down the road. Anyways, that's a little about me. I look forward to finding guns on here I had no idea I needed.
