I am actually a 5 gen Floridian but have been her over 25 years but I was too old when I moved here to catch the slang, but most of the locals I know would say puh-cauhn!! I know years ago I was really confused when a local told me he was going to the fire and I said is it the woods or a house and he said fairly confused looking just going to pick my kids up and take them up to the fire where they could ride the ponies and Ferris wheel! totally true story

I noted that you did not say you were from Atlanta. That makes me think you might be native to N.Georgia. No native North Georgian claims Atlanta. Maybe the Braves when they do good. Not the Falcons. Rankin Smith ruined that for me. GT? I love the Jackets. The Varsity? Definitely the Varsity. It belongs to N. Georgia.

If you are not native to N. Georgia, you're smart enough to have figured out that Sherman should have sowed the ground with salt after he burned down Atlanta.

    Which is it?

    And welcome to the forum.

No, I am a 5th gen Native Floridian but have lived in the N Ga mountains for over 25 years. Every time I go to Atlanta for what ever reason I always ask how do people live like this, (sorry no offence to the real peaches) It is just me in my old age and with time and resources I know that I do not have to live in the city anymore. I believe in self defense but you only have 2 shoulders to look over and that just does not cut it anymore with all the crazies in this world.

Marietta checking in here to say Welcome to the forum. I don't claim any of this metro area as "home", just where the jobs are. Grew up an Army kid and served as well, so home is where I'm sleeping tonight be it foxhole, tent, truck or house. The Bridge is located in Meriweather county.

Thank you. Love Nevada, back in my youth Vegas was hard to beat in literally and figuratively.
