Yeah, zero complaints with it. Shot a few cases that I got a deal on before I started reloading.

I had bought 1,000 rounds of Herter's .30 Carbine, all good rounds.

It was Cabela's house brand. Don't know what it is after the Bass Pro/Cabela's buy out merger thingy.
Kinda dirty, but it goes bang reliably. I think it may be re-branded S&B. Just my thought. They look very, very similar when compared side by side.

Herters used to be a mail order sporting catalog company. Bought all my fly tying supplies and hooks through them. Was sorry to see them go (1990+-?).

Guess Cabelas bought the name...Have shot their 9mm and still shooting their 45. Heard it's rebranded S&B...no supporting data for that though.

It always goes bang. Saw some tests where it was less accurate than some other brands.

All I ever shot had a Herters headstamp. Shot fine. BTW, with questions about ammo (there was a similar question about PNC in another thread) .. is there BAD factory ammo? I can recall exactly ONE factory round that did not go bang. Of the hundred thousand (a guess because I eventually started reloading when I was shooting 10k/yr) .. I just haven’t seen any that was bad. Even the imported steel case stuff shot fine.

I've bought and shot some from Cabelas before all this ammo hoopla.. I would compare it to Winchester White Box.. Not bad, but not great either. But, right now I'd say take what you can get especially if you can get it for a reasonable price.

Shot a few boxes of the Herter’s 10mm 180 grain load. Reliable. Groups acceptably. Not too watered down relative to power.. Consistent performance.

The Underwood is the load that will really clean your sinuses.

Herter's was made for Cabelas by S&B. Always worked fine for me. Haven't shot that brand in a while.

I bought a bunch of .45 acp from Cabelas when they discontinued it. I shot it and have reloaded several times. Zero issues.

Acceptable but on the low end of my scale. If it wasn't for the shortage I would not consider it.

Shot a ton of it over the years.
Still buy it when it's on sale.

"Manufactured by Sellier & Bellot in the Czech Republic and sold by Sidney, Neb.-based Cabela’s, Herter’s Select Grade Brass Case ammunition is an economical alternative to the traditional, cost-conscious “bread-and-butter” offerings. Available in most mainstream rifle and handgun chamberings, as the name suggest, the line features brass cases."

Looks like at least some of their product line, if not all, is S&B made.

**The Kalifornia Mail ban hasn't effected me much. Find a GOOD vendor. It all sucks now though.
