How many have a trunk gun?

How many of you guys keep a trunk gun? I'm not talking about a shotgun or rifle in a rack behind your seat in your truck or a pistol under the seat tethered to the mount.

I'm talking about an actual trunk gun for some sort of SHTF scenario.

If you do, Is it loaded and ready to roll or do you keep a trigger lock of some sort on it?

No trunk in my Wrangler, but I keep an AR or a lever rifle secured to the roll bar

My trunk gun normally consists of a Glock 19X with quite a few magazines. On road trips, I often carry an A.R. pistol.
With the upcoming issues with these, I have been rethinking the idea and going to a higher capacity, lever action rifle. My thought is this, a lever action rifle like a 1873 flies under the radar quite a bit more than an AR. And an honest **** hit the fan scenario not a whole lot of people gonna take a second look at the guy with the lever action.

AR or Mini-14, and a shotgun (especially in the summer) because I do not like cottonmouths.

When I take road trips to metro area I always put an AR-15 300 b/o in the truck. With 3/30 round magazines. It's better to have and not need, than need and not have.

Just don’t forget to get them outta the truck before you come to work😉

I hate cottonmouth, too - just gotta practice more moderation before bed & go easy on the nightcap🤣

I haven't had a trunk in over 30 years. But I do have a good sized conceded storage space. There I keep an AR with a few extra
mags. Edited:

This is illegal in many states and theft from a vehicle can be a disqualifier from a ccw. Heads up.

I have a V-line lock box bolted into the "trunk" of my car (a station wagon) and I will put a gun in there from time to time for road trips thru areas where I cannot have a gun on my person. The rest of the time, I just carry the gun...

I don’t keep a firearm in the car or SUV; I always carry and that’s what I depend on.

If I’m traveling longer trips I will bring an AR. I have lockable storage for both of my vehicles. Rifle travels with loaded mags but empty chamber.

I recommend people do this:
Print this:
And laminate a copy or two or ten. Place a copy in EACH container you may have a firearm in while traveling. Makes it easy to say “I printed the law, and I am following it. If there is some other issue, I will call my attorney and have them meet us and your supervisor and we can make sure I am doing the right things” should any problem arise.

I always just go with on person carry, I'm usually nervous about it getting stolen from the vvehicle I'm also not too sure about the legality of it on my state. Now if I am road tripping I will usually bring one but more to have where I'm staying.

Nah, gun is on me. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea, just that in komifornia, even ruralish NorKal, it’s more likely to be stolen than needed. I’m a big proponent of not advertising on my vehicle as well.
