I have purchased many firearms. Some of which are semi-custom. What I have never done is send an already owned gun off for customization or restoration. I plan to send off an old colt to get restored and a Beretta to Wilson combat for some upgrades.

For those of you that have done this can you speak to the process?

Must it be FFL to FFL? ( I have sold on GB once and had to go to a out of the way UPS to send it off).

When the gun is returned, does it ship to your home or back to an FFL?

You can ship it yourself via FedEx overnight. I myself prefer to use my local FFL as they can ship via USPS and it is much cheaper.

If you ship yourself it will be delivered right to your residence. If shipping through and FFL you will need to pick it up there.

I FedEx'ed "Over Night" straight to Heirloom Precision"

When Jason was done, FedEx "Over Night" straight back to me.

That's the only custom gun I have.

Yeah only 2 differences are if you mail it then it comes back to you but cost is a little higher. If your FFL mails it you would have to pick the gun up there instead of your home.

See if the Smith can send you a label, I had some work done at Alchemy and they emailed me a label. I just had to go to a Fedex hub for shipping. The pistol was mailed back to me after work was done.

This is what I always wondered about the Shipmygun - will the gun have to come back to a local FFL for transfer or can it come back to me? If not, I would only use it to send sold off guns.
