One of my range buddies ad fellow 1911 enthusiast called me last night and said let's go shooting. Cool, I'm in. He says he has a new gun he wants me to shoot. OK fine. So he hands me a CZ. First one I have ever shot other than a P-10c. It was a CZ SP-01 Shadow. I really liked the gun ! Felt great in the hand. I shot it very well. But the damn thing is a 9mm. I own no 9 mm's. So dammit now I am getting an itch for a CZ. Big mistake IMG_3727[1].JPG

I’ve gone from carrying semi custom 1911’s to Sigs and now to a CZ P01 for a go to carry pistol. I also bought the Shadow Line P01 for games. They are hard to beat for the price, one of the best in the market today. Do yourself a favor and go get one, you won’t regret it.

I'm not sure what you're reaching for: an excuse to buy, or a reason not to.

Reason to buy: because you want one and presumably have the cash to do so. That's a perfectly legitimate reason.

Reason not to buy: recessed slide, awkward thumb safety, cast steel frame and components, low quality surface coating, money spent on something that's not a 1911/2011, ...

I drank the kool aid a while back and bought a CZ 75. I guess I'm one of the few that was unimpressed by it. I found it awkward to operate (mainly because of the recessed slide), and it appeared cheaply made. But I respect that others don't share my view.

These are a very hard gun to steer clear of sneaky LOL once you get your hands on one and shoot it it's all downhill from there or uphill whichever way you want to look at it LOL they are some fabulous Shooters though I had a couple early on and got rid of them cuz I was afraid I was going to invest too much and upgrading them and then I turned around just several months ago and bought a Shadow 2 and sure enough I upgraded it LOL

Love mine, never failed me. I have the SP-01 Shadow and a 85b. I have that handicap thing. (Lefty). The thing with CZ firearms is that they can be highly customized. CZ custom and Cajun gunworks are a couple that does it. Take a look at there websites. Im on the fence to send the SP-01 in for the accu- bushing

I own 6 CZs - they can be as different as a 1911, from very basic ho-hum to amazing. All of my favorites are slicked up DA/SA with a decocker, and alloy frame. Cajun Gun Works can make your ho-hum CZ amazing, same for the CZ Custom Shop.

CZs will steal range time from your 1911s. I’ve thought of selling my Shadow 2 to thin the herd and focus more on the 1911s but I can’t bring myself to do it. Every time I shoot that gun it impresses with it’s ease and consistency. It’s a lot of fun to shoot, as many CZs are.

CZ TSO is the way to go - and you’ll never shoot a better gun / trigger...at least I haven’t yet!
Although the Bull TSO is a possibility!

I recently scored a p-01 and now my only problem is that I don't have room on my carry permit for it. It's looking like a trip to cajun gun works is in its future. I say go for it!

I've got a buddy who has a HUGE firearm collection. I'm talking, his whole basement contains one of the largest private posessions of firearms in the country. And ... CZ is his favorite handgun. They are awesome.
