I need some help dateing this Colt gold cup nm

    Posting this for a friend of mine I ran the serial number on colts site and it comes up not found, he is semi under the impression it is a older weapon we need the manufacture date so he can make an semi informed offer on it tomorrow. thanks for any help

    That's a reproduction Series 70 Colt, and a much more recent manufacture. Not that it's a bad gun - just isn't what he THINKS it is. You can call Colt customer service in the morning to confirm.

    Yea ive kinda talked him down on the gun got a price on a new one and he is going to make an offer accordingly based on the prices we found on new used ones

    I think it is a fairly new one in 45ACP. I have a 2015 in 45ACP and under it a 2017 in 9mm.

    The 2015 in 45ACP in model number O5870A1 and serial number 71N01xxx. The 2017 in 9mm is model number O5872A1 and serial number 71N05xxx.
