....to get customs guns at a reasonable price and quick enough.

After sending a 9mm T4 to Nighthawk for a multitude of upgrades including a conversion to 38 super (with the same barrel) I was like Mmmm, this works..

Then I sent a 9mm Alchemy Prime Compact to them for smoke nitride, magwell and a host of other things ACW won't do/offer (French border, lower and flare ejection port and bevel bottom of slide). I should have that back later this month, after about 4-4.5 months.

I've been wanting a stippled gun, front strap, slide-top, rear of slide, etc and when I saw this Springfield Range Officer Elite pop up on GB I reached out to Bob and said "hey, can you stipple aluminum" and got a yes.

So we worked up a work order including stippling, magwell, upgraded firing components, trigger job, Chen thumb-safety, flush cutting and beveling barrel, HRT cut on slide release, rear sight, curved trigger and refinish (blacked-out) in black nitride for around $2,100.

I'm impressed with this little gun BTW-- just picked her up today, seems solid and would be pretty good just like this if they sent them with a checkered front strap. It'll make a great base gun.

These are great carry guns, lightweight, reliable and with the upgrades you are doing it will be fantastic 👍🏻

If I wasn’t dedicated to carrying that Stealth I bought from you the RO I have would have been sent to Marty Enloe for a full custom job like you’re doing.

Nighthawk has some gifted folks. You do a lot of grip swapping. Thoughts on finishes, in general, color. You have basically White = Stainless, HC, or Silver DLC Then Black = Blue, Nitride, Smoked Nitride, Melonite, and DLC. Note while Cerakote protects depending on color choice can....Look like crap earlier than expected. For me, I am over Peanut Butter the reverse two tone can be done well or poorly. I have one now at the decision point for a refinish with Nighthawk.

Christmas comes early for you. ;)

Two questions:

1) ACW's ejection ports are already lowered; are you having yours cut lower still, and is the flare an aesthetic preference or were you having reliability issues.?

2) Is NH nitriding the aluminum frame, too? I wasn't aware aluminum took nitriding.

You are correct on #2. Only anodizing for strength and choice of Cerakote color. I've read some companies will do some form of DLC over Aluminum. The durability is questionable due to the softer metal. I recently came to the knowledge on Wilson ULC in 45 not having a steel insert in the frame. I questioned them about it. They are depending on the Anodizing for strength in that area.
