I have a ammunition transaction question. I posted a spam can of 7n6 ammo for sale on Armslist here in WI. Someone from Illinois wants to come buy it which isn't surprising since it's getting harder to find at a decent price. I know that their laws are different and was wondering if anyone from ILL could help me out with the laws. Can a ILL resident buy from outta state? Does the 7n6 play a factor in the legalities? Thanks in advance.

It’s ok. They are supposed to show you a valid Firearm Owner ID however due to the Covid any card that expired December of 2019 or later is still valid. What is 7n6?

It's Russian surplus 5.45x.39 it's no longer allowed to be imported due to the ATF deeming it "armor piercing".

If it’s legal in your state it’s good here.

Yes. We can buy any kind of ammo in another state. That state's laws take precedence. It's only when we're buying here or have ammo shipped here that we have to show or send a copy of our FOID cards. I've recently bought ammo in MO and IN where the store knew I was from IL. They can ask to see a FOID, but I've never had anyone ask. Most just smile and make some derogatory comment about the FOID.

I’ve got a derogatory statement about it myself :)

As Old Sea Dragon said, validity of expired FOID's and CCL's have been extended for 12 months past the declared end of the state of emergency.
