    Really? Never owned anything with a Powerglide trans.

    I see an adapter on the bell-housing. What is the two separate shift mechanisms for?

    It's technically called a cast iron powerglide and as far as the linkages, the rear most is used to place the trans in PRNDL and the one in the front is used to control oil pressure and passing gear in relation to engine load.

    In transmission shop lingo it's pronounced prindel. I worked on the crap for 35 years. Oh Lord! The changes I have seen.
