I was at the Pawn Shop today and they had a 5 "RIA for sale. They want $455.00 OTD. It is used but looks brand new. I don't know what year it was made. I know the serial number started with 19. It had custom grips with the words Aequitas, skeleton hammer and dovetailed sights plus an extra mag Wilson Combat. It is smooth blue and not parkerized.
Any thoughts on this. I couldn't find a scratch on it.

^^^ exactly. New RIA Tactical can be had for $450 (free shipping and no tax). Add $20-25 for FFL fee.

Rock Islands are made by Armscor. Along with about half a dozen other brands.

Definitely high for a used RIA.

You can find RIA Tactical models for that price new.

That's the standard Government model though. What he's describing sounds like the Tactical. Still, you can find new Tactical models for that money.

Is it possible to get a couple pics of it? If it is blued, it could be an older model. Pics would sure help to assess it.

My RIA FS 1911. I would say if you like the setup of that gun and the condition of it, offer him $400 for it and go from there. You can buy a new one, but you will pay to add accessories to it, such as hammer, grips etc. The WC magazine is nice to have also. I added WC beavertail, hammer, trigger and Maryland Gun Works 3 dot sights to mine. I have 800+ rounds without a hiccup. My next will probably be a Citadel CS for CCW, also made by Armscor. I'm going to pass on it. Even though it looks and feels good, I can't be sure that it will function when fired. Once it is sold it's mine so I would rather go another route. The owner wouldn't budge on price and he acted like an a******

Armscorp gun, as are just about all Phil 1911 guns. Nothing wrong with that of course, but CDNN had stainless steel .38 Supers for $450 shipped with accessory rail (I don't like the AR now that I've tried one, love the Taurus) WITH all the Bells & Whisles, PLUS nice gold trim (I feel just like a pimp!). Add a 9mm barrel and .45 upper for three cartridge shooting.
