Hello 1911 enthusiasts!

I just purchased a 1938 Colt Ace .22 and need information on the leather washers used on the originals. The pistol is re-blued, so I want a functional shooter. Information on magazines, parts, the washers and recoil springs would be greatly appreciated.

The gentleman who did the paperwork on the pistol told me that the original two-tone magazines were first blued, then dipped into a vat of arsenic, which stripped that clip, and, theoretically hardened the upper part of the clip. An interesting part of Colt history.

Sincerely, Thad

Thanks, but it seems that well has run dry for rare parts. I see that if they get a used Colt barrel and cylinder, its up on E-bay for Numrich.
