As the title states. Post up your IA gats, targets from your IA guns, glamor shots, thoughts, hopes, dreams, anything built by Steve. I'll start with some indoor cell pics of my first IA build, the See Bob. Just under 7k rounds and counting. Any smudges are just that and from me because I finally cleaned it. Thanks Woo. Do you know if it is Ionbond or another manufacturer of DLC?

Pretty sure it's a different company but Steve could answer for sure. Doesn't really matter IMO. The main key is the prep.

True, the prep is critical as well as the applicator, IMHO!

I’ve already posted the “Sleeper”, and after talking to Steve today, my next one is still a few weeks out but sounds like it’s going to be freaking awesome.

The finish is not Ion bond I use the same finisher that Nighthawk uses.. But, it is a DLC applied as PVD as is Ionbond.. Ionbond is actually a company name.. But, the finish is DLC.

Agreed. Wouldn’t look nearly as nice without the engraving. Remember what it looked like?

Just an FYI , Ionbond imo , is not the best applicator in my experience . I had one of my pistols that had to have every single small part redone twice, and the frame redone once. The quality measure at the time had no metric for appearance . So if you had light and dark shadows in the finish it passed their inspections. To be fair, the did take care of it properly. it just took three tries.

I believe things have improved a lot since then , but with the success I’ve seen from Steve , I really think it’s a mistake to go anywhere else but Steve. I don’t know anyone who will take the finish beyond 600 grit for DLC other than Steve . Besides good prep and good application, the relationship between the gunsmith and the finisher means a lot for customer satisfaction . We all know our Mr Steve Owens has high expectations and would have suppliers with like values.
