:o.o::confused::eek::grin::roflmaro: If this were Aspen Colorado, someone would buy the land for $1,000,000 and put a conservation easement on it! No kidding, "We will make him an offer he can't refuse, lawyers & government or cool cash with a huge tax break for us and the upside of increased appreciation!"

Agreed! But I live down valley from a bunch of liberal billionaires. The millionaires kicked the last surviving members of Aspen's miners out in the 80's, then they made it impossible for working folks to live there in the 90's. Come the new millennium the billionaires started pushing out the peasant millionaires, second homeowners, ski bums....

The new Polo Club outside of Carbondale in the lower valley is a sight to behold and it has been expanded by over 5,000 acres!

I think I will retire and move someplace where good folk live...This place is changing rapidly. It is what I call Exurbia. A piece of urban character set down in an isolated environment.

I wouldn't know. Even though I travel through the outskirts of Aspen once a week to Ashcroft, I never go into Aspen.

Woah. My left ball to live there... I'd seriously be out on my MTB every day in that.

I live at the edge of the effluent and affluent in West Glenwood Springs. But, that is changing as real estate prices keep climbing really fast, especially for places like mine 2Bd, Bonus room, 2 Car garage, walk out basement, a "Large" yard. extra parking down below, etc.

The closest people living around here are a few residents that work or own the Pine Creek Cookhouse. Right down the valley about a mile one of the Koch brothers bought the Elk Mountain Lodge before it was even finished and turned it into their own little investment compound. I know it was on the market for a while at $34,000,000 dollars!
