I've had zero complaints with this combination for the past couple years.

I'll hit the dirty gun with Gibbs after field stripping.....get after it with a good brush and rags.

Hit it again with the Gibbs and let it sit a few minutes and wipe down and then apply Wilson Combat oil where I want during assembly and afterwards.

Good to go.

I'll sometimes hit it with interval doses of WC oil in between full cleanings.

Aluminum, I use cv boot grease. It works in all temps. It is light and fluffy. Apply with an acid brush. Steel I use oil. Fp 10. Stainless I don't own.
It has been said the heels of Mech's boots are light and fluffy.....;.

I didn’t see much mention of Ballistol in the thread. Good for a one stop solution for cleaning and lubing? Pros/cons?
I have recently discovered the great Balistol. I have not used it on my 1911 yet, but have on my shotguns and plastic pistols. I don't have any cons for ya at this point. It appears to be everything they say it is. Good for what ails your weaponry. Maybe one con would be the odor. It really smells bad. But it cleans and lubes everything quite well. IMHO.

I use it too, it works pretty darn good. The smell is kinda funky, I don't mind it to much

I use fp10 on my vigil as well. Since I have it already I go ahead and use it on everything. Do you have something you like better?
Sorry this one got buried. For Duty COat? Nope. I stick to the Dan Wesson calls. I do not use FP-10 on anything else but duty coat. Years ago I did try it on several firearms, wasn't really satisfied with it.

I have an old old can (small can) of 3M lite oil and have used it on every gun I ever owned. A little drip will do you and I mean a little..
If a 1911 is too tight, it won't matter what lube you put on it. Looser is better.
I polish up all metal to metal surfaces day 1 after a purchase and then I add a "little" 3M oil..
The thicker the oil, the tighter you make a 1911 and the more crap is collected from gasses when shooting.
My 2 cents.
